A mobile and Apple Watch concept I designed for helping field employees understand local risk, locate opted-in colleagues, and coordinate during fast-changing emergencies.

Conceptual portfolio work
These are static design explorations, not an operational safety, emergency, healthcare, navigation, or public-health product. No real-time data, emergency reliability, accessibility conformance, privacy compliance, or user-research outcome is claimed. All people, conversations, statistics, and targets are illustrative.

Project overview
The design explores a difficult enterprise tension: employees need timely, location-specific context, while employers must avoid turning duty of care into surveillance. Mobile provides the complete operating picture. Watch reduces that picture to a glance, a warning, or one immediate action.

I rebuilt the phone and watch designs as a real React/TypeScript app — built end to end, not handed off — so you can trigger the risk warning, run the evacuation flow, and drive the watch app screen by screen. Same conceptual disclaimer applies.
Mobile experience
The phone experience moves through five levels of engagement: scan local conditions, understand a warning, inspect the underlying evidence, control visible layers, and coordinate an evacuation. Select any composition to inspect it full size.
Regional and neighborhood heat maps translate layered risk data into a single location-aware view.
Risk language
A four-level system connects index ranges to tone, hierarchy, and action. Color is a redundant signal alongside explicit labels, numeric values, icons, and instructions.

The Watch carries the same information architecture into a smaller context: local status, high-risk warnings, opted-in colleague profiles, nearby business capacity, inventory, navigation, and arrival confirmation.

Color, language, and available actions change together as risk rises; urgency is never communicated by color alone.
Location and status are opt-in, audience-specific, and reversible. Sharing is treated as a temporary safety action, not a default.
Every statistic needs its source, freshness, geography, and graceful failure state before it can support a safety decision.
System concept
The proposed data flow combines government feeds, commercial services, and user-generated updates. Before implementation, every source would need documented refresh intervals, jurisdiction, confidence, caching behavior, moderation, and a visible unavailable state.
Show timestamps and source provenance; never imply that daily data is live.
Explore cached maps and fallback messaging without promising offline emergency coverage.
Use explicit, granular, temporary sharing controls with a clear audience.
Prioritize risk status and the next safe action; move evidence into deliberate drill-down.
Proposed validation
The supplied HEART metrics are reframed here as a future research plan. No pilot, NPS result, retention rate, task-success result, or production usage is represented.

The design thesis
Community demonstrates a coherent cross-device safety language: layered context when there is time to investigate, and a single legible status when there is not. Its most important future work would be validating trust, failure comprehension, accessibility, and employee consent before validating feature appeal.
